Introduction
Vryburg 3 is a sturdy, round bilge steel motor yacht, built for passage making and rough seas. She is the third and latest ship in the Vryburg line, designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder and derived from his ultimate ship Bonker. Everywhere the Vryburg comes, she attracts admirers- due to her beautiful and well-balanced lines.
Seaworthy
Seaworthiness was one of the key design criteria. All members of the crew must feel safe and comfortable while sailing at open sea.
Most systems are built with redundancy: twin engines, double filters, modern yet proven separated dual electronics and sizeable fuel tanks, allowing for an Atlantic crossing.
And last but not least: strong and very solid hydraulic stabilization fins.
Comfort
The level of comfort is high: a lot of attention is paid to ergonomic aspects of staying on board. Outside, the gangways are extremely wide and without elevations, the railing is high and strong. From the aft deck you enter the spacious saloon with an open kitchen and the wheelhouse, all on one level. The saloon is comfortable and very light: sitting on the sofa you have great view on what happens around you. The cabins are easily accessible using a gently-sloped stair. Downstairs, the sensation of space is retained. The owner's cabin is large with a king size bed, built-in cabinets and a spacious en-suite bathroom.
Another important contribution to wellbeing on board is the very low engine sound level while cruising. Even at full speed, the noise levels stay under 60 db.
Luxury
Despite the sturdy looks of the ship, the level of luxury is high - without extravagancies - which creates the feeling of being at home. Think for instance of floor heating, airconditioning, washing machine and tumble dryer, freezers, a built-in coffee machine, televisions. The large and well-equipped kitchen in the saloon is - like in many homes - the heart of the room. Throughout the whole ship, there are many built-in cupboards, more than enough to store everything you wish to bring along.
On the large flying bridge you can sit at the comfortable front benches, with fridge for the drinks within reach. Behind the benches there is space for a tender or a motorbike.
On the aft of the ship there is a large storeroom which can a.o. fit bicycles.
Crew
Another upside of this ship is that you don't need crew members. Of course you can invite your friends (there are 6 beds for them) but without, you are able to sail, even single-handed. Especially the use of the remote control enables you to sail the ship solo.
From the wheelhouse (seated in an ergonomic chair) you have a good view and all the controls are at hand.
Interior
The interior is built in light Slovenian oak. The woodwork creates a modern, light and timeless atmosphere. To add contrast, wenge wood is used, which makes a fine combination.
The television is built-in: seated on the sofa you can elevate it from the cabinet using a remote control. The height of the large saloon table is adjustable, also with remote control, so it can serve the dual purpose of dining table and office.
Main deck
The benches outside on the aft are nice and sheltered, a popular spot on the ship. There is also a sofa located on the stern deck, directly in front of the wheelhouse.
The wheelhouse has two completely separated maritime computers with each a dedicated 19” touch screen with Maretron control and navigation software and Nobeltec TimeZero Chartplotter. The autopilot is the professional Simrad AD 70/80 with 5 stations.
Bow and stern thrusters can be operated using joysticks as well as with a remote control.
There is an own Wifi 4G system on board and the heating system, the generator and voltage can be controlled using a smartphone.
The staircase down to the cabins next to the wheelhouse. The open staircase to the flying bridge is integrated in the saloon in a smart and elegant way.
On the lower deck
The cabins are situated in the front side of the ship.
- Two Guest cabins. A roomy guest cabin with two single beds and another, smaller cabin with two bunk beds.
- There is a bathroom and a separate toilet for the guests
- In the large owner's cabin you find a king size bed (lits-jumeaux), a desk, a small sofa and wardrobes. Ensuite there is a generous bathroom with toilet.
- The engine room is situated in the back of the ship. It is a truly hidden gem: very large, with ample headroom, well-organised and in perfectly maintained condition. The engine room is accessible from the owner's cabin as well from the deck outside.
- There is also a large storage room which can be accessed via the engine room or using a hydraulic trap-door outside.
Flying bridge
Can be reached from the saloon. It offers a complete pilot-deck, enabling the crew to sail the ship from the flying bridge. It also includes sofas, a fridge and space for the tender and other toys and a deck crane.
This very fine ship is the ultimate solution for great comfort on board during longer journeys.
